Appointed Leadership for MATS

MATS MPO is governed by a group of professionals and representatives from various agencies and municipalities. This structure lends itself to all agencies being in partnership with one another to carry out the programs and the facilitation of ideas among governmental agencies, the public, and other interested stakeholders. MATS is comprised of a Policy Committee, Technical Committee, various subcommittees. Day to day work is performed by full-time staff.

Policy Committee

The purpose of the Policy Committee is to provide a forum for the development of regional transportation policies for the MATS area and to act as a vehicle to coordinate the implementation of these policies. The Policy Committee is the governing body of the MPO.

This Committee is a cross section of individuals with knowledge and expertise in various transportation fields. The Technical Committee's purpose is to provide professional opinions and technical expertise to the Policy Committee for the MPO's activities.

MATS Staff

The MPO is staffed by planning professionals that seek to provide the MATS area with quality transportation plans and programs through research and data analysis, and the development of planning tools and methods. Our staff provides professional planning services and ongoing administration of the region’s Transportation Improvement Program for the entire MATS area. Staff is managed by the Director who reports to the Policy Committee.
